Edingburgh Festival
After years of classic Shakespeare, it opens up a new perspective on the Bard's work.
The magic and mystery of teh forest was enhanced by the otherworldlyness of Titania, Oberon and of course, the playfullness of Puck. The stage was thrown open, with performers entering from all around the venue, bringing the children and adults into the play.
Youngsters around me sat mesmerised as we almost felt we were up there with the cast.
This show did not stand still for a single moment the pace was snappy, the songs catchy and the children all around me were tapping their feet and whispering about the characters as if they were already close friends.
This is a show that translates Shakespeare for today's audience and comes highly recommended.

S4K ROMEO: "I just wanted to say a huge thank you for a fantastic workshop and a superb performance of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Ashcroft Theatre (16th November). The children thoroughly enjoyed both experiences and are now quoting Shakespeare and singing your songs around the school!" |
