S4K back at The Stag

S4K back at the Stag

After 6 years producing their hit shows out of The Capitol in Horsham, the Shakespeare 4 Kidz Theatre Company have returned to The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, their home theatre from 1998 to 2004.

Producer Carolyn Chenery is delighted that the company have returned to the Sevenoaks venue, which is just 10 miles from S4K’s Oxted base.

“It feels like coming home”, she said. “Shakespeare 4 Kidz have been rehearsing and preparing for our annual tours at Sevenoaks since 1998. When the management changed and the venue was renamed the Sevenoaks Playhouse, we were unable to continue our relationship with Sevenoaks, so we’re delighted that we can rekindle our association with our nearest professional theatre.”

S4K will be rehearsing the forthcoming tour of S4K’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream during the early part of September and have promised to hold a public preview of the hit show prior to its eight-month national and international tour.

More details about the Sevenoaks preview performance on Saturday 11th September will be announced soon.

What they say about us:

"I had thought that this year's Year 6 pupils would miss out on your show, with the refurbishment of the usual venue, the Derngate theatre, and we did our Shakespeare unit last term, with a visiting workshop company. So I was delighted at the end of last term to get a publicity flyer, and immediately made a booking. For a number of children it was their first experience of live theatre outside the school environment, and although I'm sure you hear this all the time, your company is a great introduction."
