Boys: be part of a 5 star musicalThis is a role to die for! Boys are wanted to appear on stage at DUCTAC when the acclaimed Shakespeare 4 Kidz present their 5 star production of Macbeth next month. The top UK company need one boy for each of ten shows (March 15 – 19) to play the pivotal part of the son of Macduff. The boy is required to have a brief conversation with his mother before being chased off-stage and murdered! S4K expect to be inundated with youngsters eager to test their acting skills so please register straight away on www.shakespeare4kidz.com or just turn up on the day ready for action. Auditions are being held at DUCTAC’s Kilachand Room on Saturday February 27. Boys should be aged between nine and 11 and no more than 146 cms tall. There is no singing required but it is important that you should be a confident speaker. And you MUST be available on the dates. Everyone will be asked to recite a poem or piece of prose of their choice (maximum one minute in length) and to do some sight-reading. Times and further details will be available on the website. To get an idea of what we are looking for, see the LAUNCH TRAILER and the performance of one mini Macduff on YouTube by clicking this link. Boys who have played the role on the UK tour have had a fantastic time. You can too: don’t let the chance to be a Shakespeare star slip by! |

|
"It was a completely fresh experience to be in an audience of children most of whom had no idea what they were seeing beyond that it was about a man who kills the king to become king – in effect it was like going to see the play with the first audiences that went to see it when it was written, which made it a wholly different play. I reckon anyone who wants to get an inkling of how Shakespeare plays came across in their own time shouldn't be going to the Globe with an adult audience, they should be going to your performances." |
