CHILDREN’S favourites Shakespeare 4 Kidz are back!
The company has launched its new musical mini tour of Romeo and Juliet and will be visiting one of its own favourite venues – Lynn Corn Exchange - on Wednesday (January 25).
S4K has introduced millions of young people to the magical world of Shakespeare over the last 15 years with its modern musical adaptations of not only Romeo and Juliet but also A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, The Tempest and even Hamlet.
The complicated stories and complex texts are simplified by the use of modern language linking together the most famous and best-loved lines. And there are catchy songs and dances too.
This latest production will feature many of the popular actors who have played the roles before and be directed by its co-writer and S4K founder Julian Chenery.
Look out for Noel Andrew Harron as zany Mercutio, Sean Luckham as Peter the servant riding his scooter, Antony Stuart-Hicks as madcap Friar Lawrence and Olivia Chenery, last year’s fairy queen Titania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as the doomed child bride Juliet.
Children as young as eight can enjoy this show. And adults who may have been put off Shakespeare because they remember lessons at school will be amazed at how it shakes up Shakespeare to tell the tale concisely.
Performances will be at the Corn Exchange at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
Tickets are from the box office on 01553 764864.
