Shakespeare 4 Kidz presents Macbeth
Audiences can expect plenty of drama and bloodshed when Shakespeare 4 Kidz brings its musical production of Macbeth to Wakefield on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 January.
The group will take to the stage at the Theatre Royal Wakefield for four separate performances across the two days, bringing the bard's classic tale to life.
The show follows the adventures of warrior Macbeth as he encounters three witches who inform him that he is destined to become the King of Scotland.
However, he cannot win the throne without resorting to violence and murder, with tragic consequences.
The Shakespeare 4 Kidz show puts a modern twist on the tale, with many of the playwright's original words interspersed with present-day language, as well as song and dance.
Originally penned in the early 1600s, the classic tragedy remains a favourite with adults and youngsters the world over and has been adapted for film, TV, opera and theatre.
Tickets for the Shakespeare 4 Kidz production cost £16 for adults and £9.50 for children and are available online at the Theatre Royal Wakefield website.
You can use Metro's Journey Planner to find out how to get to Wakefield by public transport.
