ACTION FOR CHILDREN'S ARTS (ACA) has launched its Manifesto for Children's Arts, Children's Arts - Children's Lives at its annual conference at the Unicorn Theatre in London. The Children's Laureate Quentin Blake and Professor Sir Ken Robinson were amongst the notable contributors who introduced the new Manifesto which aims to support ACA's national campaigning for children's arts and recognition of the central place that the arts should have in children's lives. ACA is calling for more action from the UK government to support the country's obligations with respect to Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; and has detailed nine sections where it believes more can be done. The full text of Children's Arts - Children's Lives can be found here. S4K is a founder member of Action for Children's Arts and fully endorses and supports the new Manifesto for Children's Arts. |
