Our five-star hit "S4K Hamlet" is heading to the Gulf straight after the end of its current eight month UK tour. The show which stars Paul Parris as Hamlet, with Jason Lee Scott as Claudius, Pippa Jeronimo as Gertrude and Antony Stuart-Hicks as Polonius will play dates in Bahrain, Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi during April 2008. This follows a "triumphant" debut trip to Dubai in 2007 with S4K's A Midsummer Night's Dream, when the show played 12 sell-out performances in Dubai and Sharjah.
The tour opens at the Palm Hall in the Bahrain Exhibition Centre in Bahrain on Saturday 19th April; then plays eight shows at the Centrepoint Theatre, DUCTAC in Dubai from Monday 21st to Thursday 24th April; two shows at the brand new theatre at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah on Sunday 27th April; and finally two shows in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 29th April. Further details will be announced shortly. |

"To any teachers who think it might be too 'dumbed down' for top set Year 9 students: don't be fooled. Over the years, every single friend we have invited along to these performances has fallen under the spell. One child (who subsequently came in the top 5 in the country for GCSE English)said that she understood and enjoyed the S4K Macbeth much better than anything they were doing at school for KS3 SATS. It is Shakespeare 4 Kidz that inspired my eldest to take A Level English Literature. Both she and my middle child have now read several original Shakespeare play for pleasure and now enjoy quoting their favourite passages." |
