Shakespeare 4 Kidz Hamlet - UK tour now on
"Paul Parris is utterly compelling as Hamlet and gives the most heartfelt Yoric speech I think I've ever heard." Watford Observer

SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN THE STATE OF DENMARK

Prince Hamlet has returned home to attend his father’s funeral… and his mother’s sudden marriage to his Uncle Claudius, who has now become king! So when Hamlet meets the ghost of his dead father, he sets out upon a mysterious story of murder, intrigue and revenge – all the time trying to prove once and for all that his uncle is the murderer.

Our brand new musical theatre adaptation of HAMLET commences an eight month long UK tour in September.

Shakespeare 4 Kidz bring their unique musical storytelling style to the most famous Shakespeare play of them all – “To see or not to see? – THAT is the question!”

"I predict 'a hit, a very palpable hit'..." Croydon Advertiser

For junior and primary schools this is the opportunity to introduce your students to the most famous play ever written. The original 4 1/2-hour original text version has been condensed by Chenery & Gimblett into a 2-hour musical theatre show whilst remaining an authentic re-telling of the original story. From the first sighting of the Ghost of Old Hamlet on the battlements of Elsinore Castle to the final dramatic sword-fight – all the famous elements of HAMLET remain.

Using our new website you can involve your students before and after the theatre visit to review each episode of the story, including:

Secondary school students of all ability levels will find S4K’s clear, powerful and entertaining story-telling style a highly useful introduction to the story and an ideal first stepping stone to further study of the original play.

What they say about us:

S4K ROMEO: "Thought you might be interested in the review of the performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at De Montfort Hall, Leicester on 1st February, written by my 8 year old daughter: Romeo and Juliet is a fantastic romantic tragedy play which is put to life in this wonderful production especially for Kidz. With song and dance, uplifting moments and tragic events. The world of Romeo and Juliet also has a moral: ‘Don’t keep war with other people or things that will hurt you very much will happen’. This moral is showed in this wonderful play. It is also understandable for children to help them get to know the story better. There are lots of hilarious Acts and some sad, moving, romantic ones too! The actors are brilliant; they deserve a big, well done! There are some of Shakespeare’s phrases mixed in, e.g. “Parting is such sweet sorrow”, and “Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”."
